Introduction

Growing up in the Midwest means that sooner or later you will hear about or see a demolition derby race at a county fair.  I did when I was a kid and thought it to be kinda cool, but really didn't know too much about what it took and how it was done.  Back then, the biggest attraction at any fairground was Joey Chitwood's Tournament of Thrills where cars would crash into walls of fire, make jumps over each other and hit ramps to balance on two wheels.  Safety was a mattress thrown in the back seat of the car for those cool looking head-ons.  At one point, some guy would blow himself up in a box with dynamite...yeah, that's right.  The night usually culminated in a figure eight race where the drivers faced the possibility of a bone-crushing head-on and a demolition derby where anything could happen.  It always looked like pandemonium out there without rhyme or reason to me, but now I have a better insight to the madness and understand more about this sport(?) since I am now a member of the 2B's Demolition Derby Team..  So, the purpose of this blog is to introduce my two son-in-laws, Brian and Brad and their world to you, the reader.
